Conducting physical and disability assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
Assessing home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed.
Assess and treat motor, cognitive, perceptual motor, self-care and sensory processing difficulties in the following domains: Gross and fine motor skills & Sensory processing skills & Cognitive /Executive function skills & visual perceptual skills & visual – motor integration and handwriting skills & self-care, independence and autonomy.
Advising on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities.
Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help patients regain lost skills.
Preparing patients for a return to work.
Educating caregivers and family members of patients on patient care.
Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on patients.
Maintaining professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide patients with the best treatment program available.
Complying with DHA certification requirements.
Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health.
Write detailed Assessment/Evaluation reports, progress and discharge reports according to the SGH Centre’s policy;
Create, implement and revise the individual treatment program;
Instruct and advise parents/caregivers on an occupational therapy treatment plan; Assess and recommend appropriate seating systems and mobility
Maintain records and case notes as per SGH protocols and policies.
Monitor and evaluate patient’s progress
Work with clients on a one-to-one basis, and /or in groups, to deliver therapy using an interdisciplinary approach with co-treatments with other disciplines utilized when appropriate
Consult and work with team members of the multidisciplinary team to incorporate appropriate strategies and goals into the patient’s plan to ensure the patient’s fullest developmen
Maintain Confidentiality about patients and their families.
